It seems just about everyone who has put a brushed motor in their losi crawler is have severe overheating problems. I have a brand new holmes 45t motor I am scared to ruin. Any thoughts guys

what gearing are you running, I run a cc sidewinder with a intigy 45t with 14/86 with no issues. Check for binding in the drive train if you have not already

The overheating issues, especially with brushed motors, is due mostly in part by the worm gears used. I'm not going into the whole aspect of how worms gears work and I think most of us here know how already. The worm gear design on the first batch of LOSI's is not only causing overheating, but also super short battery run times.
It seems very unfortunate b/c it really is a nice truck, but there are a lot of kinks losi needs to work out with this one.

worm gears and rc crawling dont really work well together. the gearing has to be spot on, then theres run times,,,
