Default E-Revo suspension set ups ???

just wondering what everyone is running for their Erevo suspension?

here is my set up and im all over the place.....

2x4cell 4000mah lipos
MMM controller
TEKIN 1850KV prototype motor
70w oil on all corners
blue springs in rear, greens up front
progressive 2 rockers
traxxas red pushrods
17mm hexs
LRP rims with bowties

here is my problem she pushes in corners, bottoms out and the rear kicks off jumps, front end is still to soft, and i changed the pistons to #1s instead of stock #3s.

my buddy is running 50w oil golds in rear oranges up front with sway bars and his truck is on RAILS! doesnt bottom out and all around handles like a TRUGGY!!

whats the deal? are my shocks toast? truck to heavy! should i get new shocks and try running the same set up? as it is i tried the same oil and spring set up and its 1000 times worse! ?????????

suggestions?

Well if his truck is that great y not try his setup.... Swaybars really give the revo more stability. 50wt is the best racing shock oil for the nitro revos.

are your shocks leaking if not then dont worry about rebuilding them first thing i would start with is your ride height (droop)make sure its riding level or slightly lower (you can tell this by looking at your drive shafts)with lower cg your truck will automatically handle better through turns and over bumpy terrain assuming your shocks are not set preloaded its really trial and error but set your shocks tight but not too springy and then set your ride height and you should have a decent handling truck but this is just a starting point and then fine tune as you need

yes when you are lowering it you loose suspension travel and you need to stiffen up the suspension.

i ran his set up and the truck was worse!

my right height is level in rear and the front is a little lower, i might bump the front to 90w with blue springs and add the sway bar kit.

obviously you have never drivin a brushless truck or truggy before, but they have about double the power of a nitro, instant power no spool up and all around destroy nitro. there is a reason they wont let brushless truggies or buggies run in alot of races, there is no competition. yes it sucks to charge batteries but if you have a back up pair then you dont have to worry about it
i can run a 40 min main on one set of batteries and 4 5min heat races with my other set. each set takes an hour to charge,,, not to mention nitro sucks to tune and clean.
i dont hate on nitros they do have their place for one your pitstops are alot faster then changing out batteries.

granted i understand where ur coming from as far as electric is always on the rail, but as for tuning and cleaning the nitro cars its part of the hobby just like u switching out ESC's or motors or what not, it also helps u familiarize urself with the truck and being able to take it apart and put it back together and still keeping it going, so all in all it depends on u really yea sure brushless might be faster and tuning might suck at times but all in all which is better, the smell of nitro and the sound of ur motor and pipe screaming as u punch the gas or the sound of electric motors going (dont know how to describe it really)? i like nitro because its more challenging then electric where with that u plug and go, so both parts have their pro's and cons. here are some pics of my pride and joy revo 3.3

true they both have pros and cons, i had 3 nitro revos last year and my big block version was wicked on the track!! i will say that my nitro revo was alot lighter than the brushless version for sure! if i could find another 2.5 i would build me a nitro in a second! but they seem to all but disappeared cant find one anywhere at least for a decent price that is.

Im runnin a 4s 8000mah im never full throttle no need for it really, we were out practicing at the track last night and although it wasnt full throttle race practice the whole night, my batteries lasted an hour and 23 minutes and were still at 14.79 volts, i put back 6200mah this morning so they were close to cut but could have easily went another 15 min.

You are right but i switched to electric because it has twice the power and dosent have that screaming sound. My neighbors thanked me Also because nitro is about 70% tinkering and 30% running. Electric is 70% running and 30% tinkering. I mean come on would you rather have a truck that sounds cool or performs cool
