So sunday I decided to extreme bash with 6s and massive jumps and backflips and totally shattered yes shattered by axle output shafts, and slipper pad. Anyone else having this problem?
Hmmm nope and my bevel gears are still in just fine shape, even after my hard landings My main drive gear on the other hand is being slowly ground away, I need that HD drive gear bad.
Even though its a Savage, its not going to be indestructible. Keep in mind 6S is like running a top fuel dragster. The more you push the machine, the more its gonna break and need maintenance. Even Castle themselves have stated this.

But it is a savage so I know it can be pushed to the limit.. I love my savages!!!!!!!
What kinda upgrades have you done on yours? I am thinking of changing out the shocks before next weekend....maybe lst big bores?
Uh for the moment just modified the battery trays and slipped on some Bad Horsie shock covers. Just recently replaced the A-arms with all RPM which won't allow for LST shocks, which isn't a big deal for me. Upcoming is a new Hardrive body, hardened steel drive gear, Spektrum DX 2.0 and eventually some new big treads with Maximizer beadlocks. I'm already wanting an E-flite MCX, so there goes some of my Flux budget :P

Are the savage flux shocks bigger and fatter than the savage x 4.6 shocks? Just asking this because hpi is calling them BIG BORE shocks. It would suck to only have 4 shocks especially if it's the same size as the old ones.
Yup. They are much bigger. You can't put 4 more BIG BORE ones inside per arm. Those 4 are enough to support the truck and does a good job in the suspension task.

Does the 4 big bore shock doing a better job than the old 8 shock setup?
Is there any side by side comparison photos of the big bore shocks compared to the old shocks?
Btw 4wdmt, how's your savage flux holding? Any parts you broke yet??
Sorry. Can't compare it with 8 shock set-up. I don't have or owned any of nitro Savages. But, never did I experience a hard "slap" on the ground even how high I jump this thing. You know what I mean when you own a stock E-maxx. Never did anything to the shocks since I got it.
So far. I think I already have around 9 real hard bashing with my Flux, the only thing I replace is the front body post tower (not the shock tower itself). It was a case of bad landing. But that is just it. Still nothing major. Oh, and a beat-up body as well. But I guess that doesn't count .
If I ever break anytime now, I can say that it is about time . I have some spare parts lying around just in case I need one (chopped up parts set from ebay). Needless to say, they are still tucked away.
For me, 4 shocks is 4 less vs 8 shocks to manage and take care off and their doing just a fine job for my Flux. I put on Bad Horsie shock covers on to help keep the dirt out of them to reduce maintenance.
I've run the 8 shock setup on a 4.6SS and there's no comparison to the Flux's out of the box shock setup. Flux's shocks are larger diameter and do a great job stock. The 8 shock setup needed stiffer springs badly and a few preload spacers on top of that to make them work - progressive rate springs worked best.
You can tell HPI did a lot of homework before deciding what to put on the Flux. They made great choices for shock oil and springs - I've been impressed with mine as to how plush the ride is and well it works when you take it toward extremes.
