Default Traxxas Summit

Just wanted to get you guys opinions on the new Traxxas Summit. Do you think this will be a good all around truck just for bashing?

Looks good for bashing. Revo chassis. The body looks like it's from a Wal-Mart car.

It is too gimmicky. The remote lockers is a cool idea no doubt but it is not based on a proper chassis, and the body is indeed cheap looking. Looks like a Nikko. Infact nikko offers similar lights too. Pass on this one, get a slash and abuse that instead.

It has very nice features. That remote front and rear diff locking is a first. Hi-low shift on the fly transmission is not new. I am not fond of putting LED lights on an RC vehicle. Unless it is for a detailed body like how Tamiya does.

From the pics, I just don't like how it looks. Most especially up front. It is just a simple jacked up E-Revo. As they say, wish Traxxas put those very nice features to a totally different designed truck.

I have to admit. It is one unique RC vehicle. Traxxas themselves name it as an Extreme Terrain Monster Truck and not a crawler. I guess that is how they want it to be...a go everywhere, do everything MT.

I like the fact that it has crawling ability and can go fairly fast on flat ground too. The water tight electronics make it versatile in any weather. So I would say that this is a go anywhere, do what you wish, have fun anytime kinda truck that will appeal to a lot, including my 4 year old (He likes the lights). It's a cool thing to get someone into the RC world and Traxxas is much about that, getting new people to enjoy this hobby. I don't know about the body, I'll have to wait to see it in front of me to have a clear opinion on it.
I KNOW ONE THING FOR SURE!
I seriously hope these drive shaft fit on the Revo. I don't see why not. I think they'll be a hot item for Revo racers. Sorry that the pic is slightly larger than 640 pixels.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the lights of the remote locking differential, I'm a big fan of the K.I.S.S. principle. Especially when it comes to an R/C car that gets banged around like crazy. I think it would be a neat truck to play with though......

Tower Hobbies' "low price" for the Summit is $742.99 !!!

Not sure I'd pay that much for any "basher"......

Oh goodie, another "New Innovative" Release from Traxxas. Good job using a 5 year old design, tossing a different body on it and doing some off the wall diff lock that will cause more problems than what its worth. All the kiddies on the Traxxas forum will be talking smack on how Traxxas has become the best in the crawler department, ontop of every other department they now dominate in

Atleast they still have the Slash, but they sure like to keep beating them dead horses till the bones are nothing but powder. Just wait, a nitro version will be next
