Well, I broke down and built up a tube chassis for my ax10, I still have to countersink the tranny screws and work out my linkages to whre I want them, but it is close. Still got to find a glitch problem

The only crawler kit out at this time is the Axial AX-10. It is an gfreat truck, and you can even use the tranny and axles to build a tuber like mine above. You can also take a Wheely King and for about $60 you can strectch it into a crawler, cheaper route, but I would prefer the axial. It performed great like it was, I just wanted the tuber look!!

Default Alot of crawlers!

Heres some pics of my crawlers!

all have there own 2.4 radios, 1 is a 6EX

All are brushed tamiya silver can motors

All run dynamite ESC's

they run front and rear steer, with Futaba S3305 servos linked together!

I have 1 truck with the S9156 Futaba servo, front and back. THis baby turns on a dime!

Thanks for looking!

should i just do a 55t motor and get a rooster crawler esc or will a novak gtx work just fine. or should i go with the goat brushless system.

Exclamation Body shell options

Hi All,

I have just brought a Axial Scorpion.

I don't like the pick-up shell that it come's with.

I like to know what body shell's will fit this rig ?

I am looking at HPI Hummer body for a 1/10 wheele king.

Anybody know shells will fit the crawler.

P.S.
If anybody wants to buy the shell from me or would like to do a swap, Just let me know.

P.P.S
I live in Australia on the Gold Coast.

Thanks
Chris

I'm set up with a Integy 55t hand wound, Mamba Max, 12t pinion and 90 spur

You can prob make just about any 1/10 th bod work. 12.5 wheel base is what you have. I run the hpi baja bug. I don't care for the Betty either, BUT, I have seen a couple that were trimmed really LEAN and they looked good. Go to RCC crawler and look around at the pics. There are alot of them.

Get the Rooster Crawler, or spend a little more and get a Mamba Max 1/10 ... best ESC around, but it's $140 or something...

I started out with a 55t. Didn't like it, not enough wheel speed. I tried a 45t, didn't like it, not enough wheel speed. So I came up with a 35T for Brood. I've found this to be the best motor, IMO. Lots of torque, more than a 45-60T lathe motor, and way more wheel speed with a 7.4v pack. If you run a 3s LIPO you get a ton of RPM and good low end control for slow crawling. With the stock gearing my truck does about 12-15mph top speed, but has so much torque on the low end I can crawl real slow.

Makes a huge difference if you are trying to climb up steep slopes, or just hop over stuff. You can clear gaps easier, etc. Wheelies on carpet or grass, and makes the truck just more fun to drive than watching it slowly work it's way over to an obstacle.

Brushless sucks for crawling. I don't know if it will ever work right. You just can't beat the holding power of two brushes being held firm against the comm - its like having a disc brake on the driveline that you can adjust by spring tension, that combined with drag braking in the ESC and the brushed systems just work better. May not always be the case, but it is right now.
