Novak HV 4.5 in E-Maxx
Would the drivetrain of the emaxx handle the novak hv 4.5 running on 4cells lipo? has anyone had killed their stock emaxx gears in this setup before? also what about the chassis it self? how do u think it compares to the new emaxx chassis releasing dec 07? does the current chassis do the job? or is it just another marketing strategy?

Go to www.teamnovak.com, I think there is something on there, a disclaimer of sorts, about what needs upgraded in the drivetrain of a emaxx

HV Maxx
I hope somebody tries the HV Maxx with the new Emaxx. Is the Emaxx mentioned by Losi model 3905 or 3906? I thought Traxxas built the new Emaxx to withstand the power of a brushless setup, stock.

The new maxx has been strengthened for BL use. If you go to traxxas sight you can read up on it, it uses revo diffs and shafts, and the tranny is 2x stronger than the original. I have a 4.5 HV sitting here waiting for the new E to show up. FYI castle and Tekin will have there BL's out first of the year, atleast thats what they say over at rc-monster.com

I've owned both versions of the E-Maxx. The original had a ton of problems when tring to deal with the power from an older HV-4400 system. I spent ton of $$$ swapping out parts as they broke until I finally gave up and sold it. I picked up the new (3906?) version and it was much better but I still had constant diff problems. I can't honestly recommend the E-maxx. I currently have an E-savage that is basically stock except for some drive shafts and it takes the HV=4400 without any problems.
