i looked and i was wondering why shouldnt i get the .32 if it has more horsepower than why shouldnt i get it i know its heavier but in a stock savage (permitting the stock drivetrain can handle it) which would win .28rr, 28 spec1s, or .32

i think in the long run the .28 would out perform the .32 and the .28 RR would out run both, but not last as long as either. if you ask me anything from .21-.28 is the sweet spot for rc nitro engines.
If i were you i would go on youtube and look up both engines and see how they perform. get which one you like best.

I havent had a problem one with my 28RR engines, mine seem to run around 230-260 after a 4min race and actually come off at 220ish after a long main. Ive found its not a low end torque motor, I have an 086 pipe on it with really stiff clutch springs and its a rocket

The Axial engines are the same crankcase blocks and back plates as the HPI .28 4.6. So the OWB, One Way Bearing, pullstart and roto are the same. As are the heads interchangeble.

the 28rr is a little different on the head(might be interchangeable but has a different button) and you have to run a 32 backplate on it, the 28 spec1 back plate interferes with the piston

they are mostly the same but axial is higher quality and more powerful:

http://www.nitrodynesystems.com/HPI%...%20compare.htm

Axial .28 spec 1S: 1.43 HP

HPI K 4.6: 1.26 HP

they are running all the same things(pipes, fuel, etc.) exept for the glow plug.
The axial also revs a little bit higher.

says right here, if you dont abuse it during break in.

i wouldn't advise thrashing any motor during break in...unless ofcourse you have a spare, if thats the case.....hold it flat_

Default axial 32?

not a bad motor for power wise, but you get what you pay for(not much!), an even better motor and not too much more money is theLosi Mach 28.or even the Mach 427(it is a 26) good motors enough power for any truck!!! i prefer the o.s motors, i have one in my 1/8 scale buggy(a 21vg) and one in my t-maxx(a 18tm but getting the new 21 for it!)my other four trucks/cars are electric.

They did nothing to rectify the problem, just sent me back the faulty engine. They said its common for the RR to run hot, but it was boiling over and flaming out in under 3 minutes. I sold it on ebay .

The Spec 1S 28 and 32 have been trouble free for 7 gallons on the 28 and 5 gallons on the 32. I couldnt be happier with them. IMHO the 28 Spec 1S will outrun and perform the 32.
I am having a very similar experience with a .28rr in a MGT right now. It is running in the 290 degree range when it runs good, and it's 40 degrees outside! Something isn't right. I'm going to call Axial on Wednesday.
