Default 1/10 Scale Bigfoot 4/6

So I have always been a fan on the older monster trucks from the mid to late 80's and my fav was always Bigfoot. I remember seeing Bigfoot 4 and 6 as a kid, So I decided to make a scale version of the truck. It is still in the beginning stages, but here are some pics. Still have not lifted the truck yet as I am waiting on the hardware plus I am getting the scale Blackwell axles.

Chassis is a RC4WD Trailfinder 2, wheels are Jconcepts Tribute wheels, and I will be putting Firestorm tires on it. Engine is RC4WD as well, but I am modding it to be as close tot he real thing as possible. Need to find a 1/10 scale supercharger as I have found the predator carbs.

Really leaning toward the 1989 Jconcepts Ford F-250 body. I like the Parma one, but I do not like the built in light bar. I am going to make that piece. Also planning on making the hood open forward and create an actual cab. Know where to get a mini Ford flag for the rear?

Anyone have any ideas on how to make 12mm lift block (what material would be easiest) and custom square u bolts with plates?

I mainly just need to know what size bolt I need to use to make the custom u -bolts.

I love that body, but I specifically want to make the 1988 Bigfoot.

For the lift block Delrin would be easiest. You can buy it in chunks of any size and cut it with hand tools or even machine it.

As for the U bolts, I have no idea. If there are no readily available u bolts or it is not feasible to make your own I do have an idea. Use a plate on top of the axle and bend it around the axle a bit. Then use 4 bolts. Not quite as scale but itíll get the job done.

Got the Firestorm tires on. I know I have a lot of lifting to do. Waiting till I get the blackwell axles in.

Is it just me or does the wheelbase seem short? Wondering if I should go with the LWB chassis. Wondering on how the jconcepts body will look on it though.

Installed the trans and engine properly, also added a little touch on the valve covers. I will replace them when I get closer to finishing as the original Bigfoot trucks had "Bigfoot" on the valve covers bead blasted into the chrome, and I want to do the same effect as I have a bead blaster. Also need to find a way to get a new intake and roots style blower 3D printed.

Really feel like Bob Chandler as I am going to have to make a lot of custom pieces to make this thing as real as I can get to scale.

Dang this is looking excellent. I can imagine if you contacted Bob Chandler or Bigfoot you would get a positive response.

Thanks. I might, but I will wait until I am further along. I have been a huge Jim Kramer and Bob Chandler fan since the 80's.

Anyway I forgot I had some old Clod tires in the basement from a long time ago. Thank god they were old because the glue on them was brittle and made it easy to pull the rims off. I wanted these for this project instead of the firestorm tires because they are more period correct. I had to modify them to make them fit on the new rims. I also painted the nuts on the inside to give it more detail and added the black strip like the ones Bigfoot 6 had.
