This ROAR event has always a one day event. I think the race you are thinking of is the Midwest Indoor Champs, that follows the format you mentioned above.

Looks like most of the signups are going the way of 17.5 TC. I say for this race we just forego 21.5 and just go with 17.5. I'm changing my entry now
