Some do, some don't. If someone can't handle a 4wd mod buggy why limit the people that can?

This is something we are trying. Price point, tighter racing and durability will make it easier for most to enjoy. For those that come out and race with us, 4x4 is starting back up so it's not a big deal to go this route off the bat. If you can handle the power, race 1/8th scale e buggy.

You guys made a choice for your club to do what you feel is best for the club. That's all there is to it. I just didn't, and don't, understand the push for a limited 4wd buggy class. The price point would be the same or less for an 8.5 as it would be for a 13.5. Tighter racing? It will still be the better drivers in front. If you limit e buggy, it won't be so intimidating and more people will join. You could fill in whatever class you want, it's all intimidating to a beginner.
In my opinion, and that's all it is, it doesn't help them to lower the power available. It will still be the more experienced drivers winning. If winning is what's important? Drive sportsman. You shouldn't expect to buy a car and come compete with people that have been racing for years. That's just not reasonable. With that said it's important for the veterans to help new drivers learn that the sport is about having fun with friends. It's about doing your best. Of course it's great to win an A Main, but does that mean a close race in the B/C Main was any less fun?

It's all about having fun, I can agree and disagree with what Jon is saying, and limits on motors can get quite costly as looking for the latest, greatest motors and batteries can deter more than help, the veterans of the hobby seem to help, but they could help more, but that's my opinion and looking forward to going over and racing a time or two, just need better planning on my part.

Really? This is a choice for people and our core group wants to run it. If it doesn't look appealing than don't run it. That simple. Move on.

Ross, I said exactly that. I was only trying to share my opinion. Good luck.

Bottom line the numbers will speak for what people want. If you have 5 guys that want to run open I'm sure they would run an open class, I know we would never turn down 5 more entry fees. It will be interesting to see which classes are popular in the different areas of the state once the Pingree and Minot seasons start and if Fargo gets some racing put together.

Thats one thing I always wondered about as ND has alot of wide open spaces. I do see guys with these 1/5 buggies and SCTs from time to time and I have owned 2 of these, probably the only fuel based vehicles I would do these days lol.

But the track for sure would have to be oriented for them.

About a week out guys and gals! Weather is looking promising for a great race day. Let's hope it holds! We plan to do the $5 meal again as we did last year if interested. I'm not sure what's on the menu yet so stay tuned.
