New Track Layout for the Points Series
I was surprised how much it was appreciated by the drivers - I'm resetting the track in the next couple of days and hope to add a couple of new features. The space is large and it'd be nice to give the 10th scale 4wd racers a big feature.

I know some of you wanted to help with the design and new layout. Let me know as I'm open for input.

I spent several hours last night on the new layout . . . should be interesting with a little longer total distance, technical sections and some high-speed areas too. Remember the wagon wheel from summer? It's back.
Will I see you there Sunday? Let me know if you plan to attend as there'll be a free meal between the 2nd and 3rd rounds again this weekend.

Have you given us a try yet? Think about making the trip:
Very affordable racing and very family friendly:
$15 Race fee for as many classes as you want
$15 Race fee for a whole family - run 8 classes for $15!
Plus, most Sundays, a free lunch is provided for all racers
Large, open span race track and great pit space with view to all the racing
Easy tire choices, easy hook-up
"Soft" barriers to help prevent breakage
Low-cost transponders . . . equip 3 cars with unique transponders for under $100!
Anyone from today's races want to share their opinion about the new layout?

At first I didn't really care for it, I miss the fast but tight feel of the old layout. After turning a few laps and figuring out how to take the pinwheel, short jump and get around the table it grew on me. I still don't take them right, but at least I have a good idea of what right should look like. Looking forward to running it again to figure some more out. Certainly helps that there are some good drivers to emulate. Just slow down and do what they do, I'm always surprised at how fast slow is.
Spec Slash had a good turnout today, made for more fun. Seems that tires, motor, and battery are where the big gains are, hoping we can keep it at 7 cell NIMH, 2s Lipo, 12t Titan, and Traxxas tires. I'm open to bending the rules a little now and then to get the class filled out and to give everybody opportunity to run, but there'll be a point the mod trucks should just run mod. A Slash with VXL and pin tires would only need LCG to be competitive in open.
Lunch is a nice touch. It's a good long day and between preparing, marshaling (we're all taking our turn marshaling right?), racing, and fixing there's not a lot of down time to go get food. KFC was getting old! So thanks to Rusty for feeding us again today.
