Andrew, I can't see a list not is it letting me sign up via my phone. Can ya get me down for sedan, f1, and maaaybe wgt?

If the 1s short stack is ROAR approved why isn't it legal for the challenge?

I think because until a day or so ago they weren't on the list. And as of 4 days ago they weren't even announced to the general public, while the sponsored guys may have had early access. Andrew announced it here the day the motor was released that it wouldn't be legal just for the Challenge as at that time it wasn't on the list. A call had to be made and it was.

I for one am not at all sponsored and I was able to get one, got it in the mail yesterday. This is the only D4 I own so now I don't have any motor to use for the challenge. In my opinion if it is ROAR approved it should be able to be used at the challenge. According to the ROAR website they were approved on Dec 15th, over two and a half weeks before the race and that is ample time for people to get a motor if they choose too.
If you choose to follow ROAR rules then follow them. Don't just make up rules as you go and decide to bend them and make exceptions to them.
The only motors I have are "illegal" at this point. I have two D3.5's and two illegal D4's so I guess I'm S.O.L. on having anything to use for the challenge.

I have a hand built certified D4 17.5 you can borrow if you want. I can send it with Cheng as I'm not running this race.

We announced the day they released that they would not be legal for the challenge. No one should have thought they would be as they were not on the ROAR list until yesterday. At which point we again stated they would not be legal for the race as previously stated.

Also note on Dec 22nd the d4s was NOT on the ROAR list.
Trinity released the motor Dec 18th. They did not claim ROAR approved they only stated built to ROAR specs. Approval posted Dec 23rd. If you were able to get one of the first ones out there is no way you could have know if it would even get approved as Trinity was only saying up until yesterday that they had been submitted.
In all fairness to all the competitors we will not allows them to run until Jan 18th.

The date the motors were submitted is that date. ROAR did not post the list until the date I posted. We have been watching every day. We made the announcement the day Trinity released the motors. Which was the 18th and Trinity at that time said the motors were submitted and not approved yet.
Sorry they will not be legal until the 18th at MMR.

Well I don't agree and I'm not the only one but it's your track and your rules so my hands are tied.
