Reminder that we're racing this Sunday. Normal oval program followed by a fun Co-Pilot Cruiser race. Two drivers per car at the same time. 5-sec breakout rule applies.

Also, we've shifted some special events around to hopefully open up time for more fun races.

Feb 5 - Co-Pilot Cruiser Race after normal racing.
Feb 19 - Tri-Oval racing and Show 'n Go R/C Car Show
Mar 5 - Legendary 100 after the normal racing event
Mar 19
Apr 2

What will we come up with next?

This Sunday (2/19), MCOR is racing on the Tri-Oval. Normal racing program with possible double A-Mains for all classes. R/C Show 'n Go also displaying some cool R/C cars and trucks that you may not normally see at a carpet oval track. We are expecting racers from Wisconsin and Iowa this weekend as well so it should be alot of fun!! Doors open by 10am, racing starts at Noon.

This will be day 2 of a double header weekend for some of us. MCOR Slash Mod racers will be invading the Algona Rug RC Racers track Saturday the 18th.

Heads up points qualifying for the Slash Mods, along with longer Mains and a Trophy Dash as well. Along with all other MCOR Classes.

2017-18 MCOR Racing

Heads up oval racers. The winter season is fast approaching and we're getting some plans finalized. First race will be Sunday Oct 15th at the new location. Address is 3850 Edgwood Ave. Just a block or so away from the old building. We're also hoping to have a get-together before the season starts to talk rules, and just do some bench racing over some brats and beverages. I'll post more on that later.

As for rules, Legends, Slash Mods, ASA Late Models shouldn't be changing anything. But the other pan car style classes are dependent on what BRL is changing. We will know more soon on that. Winter is coming, are you ready to play inside?

Pre-Season Party ** Saturday Sept 16th**

How about an afternoon to chat about class rules, format tweaks, the 2017-18 schedule, and just plain hang out?? September 16th will be that day. Location will most likely be at my place in Eden Prairie (close to 169 and Pioneer Trail). This will be a great opportunity for new racers to bring their car to get some tips also. We will grill brats and hot dogs for lunch and have pop available. (BYOB) Maybe a trip to Elko aftewards for some races.

A Facebook event will be created also but if you're not on there, send me a PM here for the address if you would like to come out.

Quick recap of the start or our carpet oval season. Legends and Slash Mods again look to be solid with good car counts. Not to mention a bunch of new excitement from new racers coming to the Legends class. I personally know of 5-6 new cars being built or that have been purchased and drivers inching for their first start. Slash Mods also provide a TON of fun for the investment. MCOR recently raffled off a race ready Slash Mod on Facebook and the lucky winner, a dirt oval racer from Ogilve looks to try out carpet racing with his new ride. Also, a new Grand National class had some early season excitement only to be overshadowed by the on track excitement from opening race day. Pancars with more power than traction will be a good challenge for our racers. ASA Late Models continue to be very racey and Sportsman Trucks have yet to hit the track with the new BRL style rules package. We're racing every other Sunday now through March (minus Christmas Eve) and our next event is this Sunday, 10/29 with Slash Mods running Twin 50 lap A-Mains.

Racing this Sunday... Doors open at 9am qualifying starts at Noon. This event we focus on the Grand National class with Double 50 lap A-Mains. The Grand National class is helping lead a resurgence of oval pan car racing across the country. It's a cost effective way to race oval with all the chassis adjustments of their more expensive counter parts but without the "motor or battery of the week" to worry about. No need to have multiple sets of foam tires with different camber cuts and different sizes. Just strap in the same battery as everyone else, wire in the same inexpensive motor as everyone else, and bolt on the same tires as everyone else. A spec 81t spur gear also helps limit gearing options making this class more about chassis tuning and driving. Oh, and did I mention at a fraction of the cost of other pan car classes? See you Sunday whether it be in a Grand National, Legend, Slash Mod, ASA Late Model, Sportsman Truck, or Street Stock.
