Main criteria for running Mini Cooper at LSRCC,

Front wheel drive-M03/M05 chassis
Short Wheelbase Mini Cooper Body
540j silvercan motor
Tamiya kit speedcontrol

The best way to go is get the Tamiya Mini Cooper, kit #58438,bearings,oil shocks, and you are good to go!

Mike- the pinions are metric pitch, the car has fixed mounts for the motor, 16 18 and 20 tooth are the chassis options, and the spec gearing is the 20 tooth as Brian said and what comes in the kit... JEFF

only if it is short wheelbase.
I think the 58438 is the only short WB Mini Cooper body Tamiya makes.

Don't make the car lighter is all, you can add all you want.
Your receiver and servo are the only items that will be different from anyone elses.

Any other tire options?
For now only kit tires

We are looking at 2 options for replacement tires at this time. First option is the Sweep premounts, they are easy to get, cost $10.00 less for a set of 4 and are supposed to last a LONG time. I have s set on order for testing and if they hook up well on carpet they will probably be the replacement for the kit tires. If they don't work at least as well as the stock tires we will go with the Tamiya Spec premounts as the replacement tires. We should be able to make a decision after this Thursdays or next Thursdays points race.
