If you build it they will come. Commercial/ Warehouse space is dirt cheap right now. Lets put it together...

Here is the deal. The drivers stand is a huge cost because you have to build it out of the pink fire resistance wood or a certain kind of steel. And you need to make it handicap accessible.
The borders need to be made out of the same wood.
To make a good track you will need at least 60 dump trucks full of dirt, a watering system, and an industrial air exchanger.
Then you need at least 100k in a hobby shop to keep the place going. Entry fees alone will not do it.

why not
You can find all those items cheap, and some for free. The track doesn't even need to have a huge inventory, thrre are only so many cars with different parts that actually brake. A group could raise a little money and if it takes off, then you spend what you can each month on some "club" parts that require a "donation" to get them, or even bring back a new replacement part next time out. The number two thing that wreck the indoor track is allowing nitro to run indoors, it's more than a ventilation issue, the residue gets on everything. The second is as mentioned before, to many cooks in the kitchen. What you need is an outdoor track to run heavy for a summer and take the loot to try an indoor track for 6 months over the winter and if it fails shut the doors and lesson learned. If it's working renew the lease and move forward.
Wow, my quick thought got really long. I wonder how that happened?

It is true you can find a lot of that stuff used and in decent shape. But another issue would be how would a club get a minnimum of 5 grand a month to pay rent. location and size are huge to make an indoor track. you need to be close or in the tc area plus you need at least 30,000 sq ft.
I am not trying to bum anyone out. I have crunched the numbers in my head dozens of times cause I want to do something. It just doesnt work with the ammount of racers we have. Plus who is going to support the track in the summer? the landlord isnt going to just forget 6 months of rent

Would Nitro guys convert their stuff to electric to run indoors in the winter? Why would summer grind to a screeching halt? If you have the premier facility for off road, the summer series you work around is obviously the nitro series. I know it is mostly a pipe dream but Joe you dont have to piss on the parade... LOL... I have a buddy that races who's neighbor(buddy) manages patio town in b-ville who we could probably get some supplies, dirt, etc... 30,000 sq ft is a but overkill isnt it??? What ventalation do you need?
