Tracks around the University of Minnesota
Hey everyone.
I go to the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) and I was wondering what tracks are in the area? I don't mind a little drive but I don't want to be in the car for like an hour or something.
Indoor or outdoor (or both) off road tracks is what I am looking for. I run electric right now but may buy a nitro buggy or truggy.
Let me know and hope to see you in the fall!
UPDATE - Just want to know what is available at this point.
May buy a Slash to run in the winter?

Sorry, If you want to run dirt your going to be in your car for an hour or more, thats just a fact right know in minnesota. If you want to run indoor offroad not on dirt you can go to MMR direct in St louis park.

Where are the tracks that are an hour plus?
I checked out MMR, that is indoor offroad-carpet only?

MMR is not off road on carpet.
I recommend you check it out. The track is not flat and it runs very much like high bite dirt.
I would say Full Throttle in Foley is within a hour and a half, then Teas in Rochester.

I believe the race at Fisk's is a 1 time deal since he is in the middle of town. He had to get a special permit from the city to run the nitro series race.
However, do check out www.mnnitroseries.com Under "schedule" you'll find links to all the outdoor off road tracks. Rochester, Foley and Duluth run regular club races. also check out the new richmand wi track referenced. Also see the RC Barn forum in this section.
As someone mentioned, to run off road right now, you pretty much have to travel at least to the outskirts of the metro. I don't think there is any indoor dirt...
