Go with the Tc4 so if you break somthing at the track some may have the part. Nobody around here runs the trinity car so parts will be hard to find. You can pick one up at any of the following:

I think I spoke to you at the armory. Hopefully my tc4 will be ready for the TA class our next race. plenty of tc4 stuff around. novice class is to be renamed sportsman; there are racers who are just starting out as well as those with some experience who are just starting onroad so come out and run!!!!!!!!!

Another Minnesota newbie here
I am from Coon Rapids and raced carpet a few years back "Legends" were a blast as well as the trinity "spec" car. to many hours @ work and kids forced me out for a bit... I now own a revo bought and customized this past summer:
center diff
rear brake
resonator pipe
steel drive shafts
wing
aluminum tie rods
aluminum toe links
aluminum susp arms
sway bars frnt and rear
hi flo intake
vented frnt brake
venom pro charger
...have a new body and tiger drive to install this week along with 23 mm hubs and pro line wheels and tires... I plan to make it to the red horse ranch Dec 6th along with some freinds of mine and see the what this revo is really capable of and also interested in getting into carpet racing this winter. a lot of reading to do here... whehw! hope to catch up with you all soon.

I'm not disagreeing with you Don. The TC5 has its place on the grid.
On the other hand, who among us has never had to 'pick the brain' of a fellow racer running the same chassis in regards to setup and handling?
Almost everyone has, at one time or another, run a TC3/TC4/NTC3. The information is abundantly available. Heck, at one time last year, Conner and I had nine fully functioning TC3/4/Nitros. The TC5 is a completely different platform.
I'm not saying a question won't/can't be answered by a fellow racer regarding a specific chassis. But, it's more valuable to see another car and 'hold it' to compare it to your ill-handling car, not to mention someone else having spare parts to share/sell at the track in a pinch.
That said, the question MNPete is asking needs to be more detailed:
What is the budget?
What classes do you want to run?
How competitive do you want to be?
How much time are you willing to invest at home AND at the track working on setup in between heats?
Are you looking for new or used?
How easily do you want to find consumable parts for it?
Do you care if you are the only chassis from that brand at the track?

There are a number of Tc5's running now, and setup info is available. The other beni of running that platform is parts are readily available from any hobby shop. You can get it in the rubber or foam version and be ready to play. If you plan to only run Trans-Am I would get the Rubber version.

I ran my TC5 all last summer at Hobbytown, first TcORC race, and Duluth last Sunday....No complaints and I really like the car. The main reason I picked it up was parts availability.

easy to get parts local definalty tc5 4 and really 3. Really easy to get Losi parts and good local serpent part support. A fair amount of xrays out there also but parts not as easy if needed.
