Well. As for the oval guys we could make a double sweeper track or we could always make the boards easier to moveso it would take like 3 minutes to switch the road course into an oval. If we do an oval we should call it the devils ring.

A track I use to race carpet at ran oval and road course the same day. They had a layout that was easily convertible in <10 minutes. It allowed time for 1 group to charge batteries, etc while the other raced.... could effectively double the club.

Plus if we run oval on the same night we will get some road course guys buying oval cars and some oval guys buying some road course cars.

I'm sure all of you do some sort of outdoor racing during the summer months, but what I'm suggesting you consider is just HOW MUCH stuff and room it takes to run indoors - not only the materials, carpet, boards, obsticles, etc. - but the area needed (including pits) as well as the manpower needed to take it up and down.

So anyway, before getting over your heads, and just to throw something out there - have you considered mini's? I know, I know, I know, I've heard it all so you don't need to say it, the reason I'm mentioning it is because the area as well as the materials needed are small in comparison - and, in addition, you can save all your larger outdoors stuff and that way it saves a race season of wear and tear, as well as mini's/micro's being much cheaper to run.

.....just a thought, and 2-cents worth to consider
There it goes again. Questions on scale, 1/10 SCALE, 1/12 SCALE, 1/18 SCALE ONLY. No 1/24, no 1/32, no 1/64, no Matchbox or Hot Wheels, no 1/8, no 1/5, no 1/4, no 1/3, no 1/2 scale. Please remember to KISS.

Nowhere in my post did I reference "1/24, 1/32, 1/64, Matchbox or Hot Wheels, 1/8, 1/5, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 scale."
My only intent was to point out that 1/18th racing takes up an inordinantly lesser amount of space than's needed for 1/10th -- seeing as you guys are apparently new at this, that and I've been running an active indoor winter program for a number of years. I was just trying to help.

I don't know why some people have to get so damn defensive and angry about a simple comment intended to do more than offer some simple advice to a group that was apparently doing a startup operation......

......as I said initially, "sorry for stepping in your sandbox" - I'll take my cars and ideas and slink away now.

We might be new at this but we have lsrcc as a teacher. I'm going to call dan vessel after this weekend and pick his brain for hours.
We are open to ideas but a mini only program is already in place at mmr. We need to get sedans rolling around here again. I know a lot of people around here have sedans that they want to run. We just never had the square footage to really open them up.
I really want to see a foam stadium truck class take off around here. I think that would be a blast

This post by a group of people that have been involved with several tracks, ect........and are looking to transition from the RC Barn to a winter club racing series. Some of these guys posting also happened to have been involved with hosting the ROAR carpet championship and running that track.

Please go away.
Do you know everyone that lives in MN or considers racing there in their travels? No.

Do YOU know who you are talking to -- NO!

Friendly group of boys you've got there, great elitist attitude that works well for attracting and keeping racers, or attracting sponsors......... good luck !
