So what motor/battery combo have you settled on for WGT?
Did you discuss/vote on a Rubber tire TC class?
Evan B. was down this weekend running his Darkside WGT car with a Protoform Corvette body. He was running the Prism "spec" tires on it with a 4-cell 13.5. It was certainly do-able and looked pretty well hooked up. If a vote were being taken and I was asked my opinion I'd DEFINITELY suggest 4-cell 17.5 and maybe even 21.5. Make 'em different...as it was Evan's WGT car was a bit faster than 19T/10.5 foam tire TC (which is where he ran it).

our goal for this was to get this going as cheap as possible for our local racers, everyone has 4 cell, esc, 27t/17.5s already so all they need is a car kit, body and tires, everyone is here is going to run a corvette body, both crc and jaco have tires
sedan:
we'll run a rubber class,
plus allow lipos, we will tech lipos for temp and voltage before each race, mitch can maybe be more specific on this
I figured that Scotty probably knows what he is doing when they ran lipos at the IIC in Vegas. At tech they were checking voltage and temp of the battery pack. The voltage couldn't be over 8.44 and the temp couldn't be over 110 degrees fahrenheit.
Jari called and said everyone at the first club race out east he went to were all running lipos in sedan.
Good first weekend of racing for the Northern Mini Racers. Congrats goes to Brian Nichols for holding off "The Killa" in a very exciting B-main.
I'll let Bryan know about the Rubber Tire class (Uncle Scott don't race no Taxi Cabs). He's kinda achin' to go on a road trip and he's been hearing nothing but rave reviews of your event from us for three years now.
17.5 it is for WGT. I'll have to get a DB10R built up. I've got everything for it except tires...and we all know where to get those!!

I see we have a rubber tire class and a WGT class now. Any thoughts to throwing down another rug and get some oval going with our sprint cars and late models. No H

the corvette body isn't manditory, we were thinking about calling it the "corvette challenge" but if someone shows up with a different body we won't turn them away
Yes Mike--Touring Car / Rubber is a Stock (27T / 17.5) class with 6-cell NiMH or 2s LiPo. We use a spec tire, the Jaco Blue, which is what the "big" races all do for handout (IIC, Cleveland, etc). Also matches well with what the Denver and Seattle/Portland racers have spec'd.
Let me know the feelings on the bodies for WGT. If everybody really ends up doing Corvettes I could probably do that. Just have others that I'd prefer.

We have alot of stock 1/12th(up to 20 on a club race sometimes), couple super stockers and a couple tc's (out of town races only), seems to be the World GT's are catching on pritty fast, we have about 5 of them that just havent been built to make it to a club race yet. probably in two weeks we'll be running them then. Our club has agreed in 27/17.5 with 4cells and spec tires. Our Club is running Vett bodys but as Buttsy said were just looking for GT cars for the 2day, body isnt such an issue as long as its a WGT Approved Body.
If you want to cut tires I say go for it IMO, as mentioned when you cut its good for a few races and whats the point in a big chunky tire when youll have to replace that as well.
Peace
Chuck
