do you guys have anyone up there that races by the name of Mike Wilhem or something to that effect? His wife used to (back in 1999-ish) own a dance studio in minot. Guy used to have a lot of rc that I remember.
For the classes you guys run, what appears to be the popular motor setup right now and tire selection?
For Bill:
Have you thought of talking with the various clubs where you want to run brushless and see if they would let you run but not count towards points or anything as far as in there stock class? If you don't count, and your power is not something way beyond, maybe they will let you run if you mainly just want to run. Could be a way to show off the brushless setup and see what people think. With cheaper brushless systems coming out, could also entice guys to give it a shot. You could also when they become available look into that new A123 pack that fits sedans perfectly from what I saw in RC Driver for the TA05 IFS review they did. It may only be 6.6V, but if the 13.5 is a bit too fast for stock, maybe this will balance it out nice, and also the chemistry on them appears to be safe compared to the issues that lipos can have when mishandled. THey also appear to be able to be recharged in like 15 minutes or so.
Lastly and kind of offtopic but you did mention offroad, since you are big into brushless scene, you should give doing a 1/8 scale brushless conversion a look. I got lucky enough to pickup one here in an MBX5, and I am extremely happy with it. Its just a blast to drive, no engine tuning to worry about, and its cool to put in or dial out reverse when I want. With castle working on a Monster Mamba Max with Neu combo that looks to be $300 or less (Neu motors, at least on the ones we use for the 1/8 scale conversions can be $220+), could have a future. These brushless conversions scream.

Sorry for the delay in replying.........We had a good first weekend of racing at our club track in Sawyer, ND. I took first with Eric Grosse in second and cannot remember the rest of the order. We are looking at picking up a few more racers this year with club racing reaching almost 20 1/12th scale racers if everyone shows up on the same weekend.
Our second club race took place while Randy, Janet and I were in Omaha, NE participating in their Midwest Carpet Championship. The Northern Mini Racers had a pretty good weekend in Omaha taking both 12th TQs with Randy taking second in stock and I took first in 19T. Janet finished 5th in her main. We all had a great time. Back home Mike Butts TQ'ed with Eric taking home the win in the main.
Looking forward to seeing you Montanans(SP?) in December!!!
hey im looking for some info on your races, like rules and what not...im from the GF area, but ive been working in minot and spending the entire week here, and im sure this will go on most of the winter...i doent really know alot about electric or carpet, but would like to give it a try, so i was wondering what the class rules, and do's and do not's...

Just a reminder that we are practicing on December 5th, 2007, with doors opening up at 4:00. Randy & Mitch are going to be there to help anyone with their car setups or any questions they may have. Hope to see you there.
Had a great time this weekend thanks Mitch and Randy.
When are you thinking about laying the carpet back out in Sawyer I can make it anytime this week, after Christmas would be a little tougher for me, and I hope we can make it bigger that would be great more options for track set up.
Again thanks everyone for the great time.
ps Janet watch out I am catching up to you LOL
