Default Bill Fan Club 13.5 discussion relocation

Here's the debate/discussion relocated so we can get back to pkc Race topics on pkc Race thread.

Guys, I think a brushless stock "equivilant" class would be a really fun class to run NEXT season, RATHER THAN (or in addition to) roar (brushed) stock.

-Agree on a motor that's legal (I know there's more to come, hopefully BOB or magazine tests could narrow possibilities down).

Brushless stock doesn't seem to have the thermal issues mod does. I think they would have less power variances than the brushed counterparts so it would kind of shut some of us up (myself included) and have give us a chance to have more fun running our little racecars. No comms to cut, brushes to solder, springs to select, break-in, blah, blah, blah!!!
If you'd like to join the BILL FAN CLUB, PM me, and we'll get you your official BILL FAN CLUB certificate and patch to put on your favorite vest, suspenders or 1/12 scale jacket.

Bill:
Side Note:
It amazing how someone can be 3 laps down from TQ (after 4 qualifiers) and come and TQ by a lap! In stk! That is about a 10% gain in laps or if you are looking at lap times would equate to about 34 seconds made up or just under a second per lap! (no names will be said) Its just amazing how that happens! And they were bouncing off the walls while he was at it! I know I had a front roll seat! I hit the wall maybe once! Just amazing how much better a guy can get after good night sleep at a Holiday Inn!

I don't understand what you are trying to say here.

Bill,
Is just saying what others are thinking!
Motor, Motor, Motor and more Motor.
If you have two equal skilled drivers and one has more HP in stock. He WINS period!
I have watched many many stock races and you can see who has HP and who doesn't. I think it would be great for next season to have a brushless class or at least try it.
As far as my tuning skills in stock & 19t go, I feel I have spent waaaay to much time and money to try to go fast in those classes. I can just order a mod and all things are equal? Hows this possible? Because anyone can buy a mod with more power than they can drive!
I was not a brushless fan until I ran one, now I am sold on all of the benifits and ease or maintenance. I am out there to have a good time, When I found out my mod 1/12 could do wheelies, I was hooked!
Bill just has balls to say what he is thinking. The rest of us have none!
Keep it up Bill!
Later

times are changing as all things change so does r/c. so lets get with the times and start running brushless and see how it goes. as for monitoring brushless the 13.5 was made for stock so run it with stock class big deal, also i hear there are upgrades u can get for 13.5 and a few different kinds but what the heck u can get probable 15 different kinds of a stock motor also. i will be one in favor of running brushless with the stock or mod i dont think u need a seperat class just run and have fun. so lets race

Hi Sparky we are racing at prcp sunday call Ian last race here till dirt fly ? start time 10:00. My take on BL motors is this. OK say BL motor is a (C6) and a Brushed Motor is a (C4) what one would win CVETTE

That consistency formula is awesome, Stormer. That is a very good way to evaluate a race. As it proves that 'motor' does not win races. Sure it helps, but so does a good car setup, good tires, driving....the list goes on. There are so many variables that are involved in racing, making it is impossible to say that one variable makes a huge difference. A good motor with a poor set up is not going to beat a lesser motor coupled with a dialed in car. Personally, when I go to a race, I try to be find the best line. Once I find my line I work on hitting it every lap. The consistency factor is prevalent in every form of racing: F1, nascar, kart, IRL.....

....just my two cents

I bet my Subaru Legacy GT with 2.5 stock will beat your C4 stock??? But I realy thought you meant the C6 was an RB .21 engine and the C4 the Old RB engine

When it comes to 1/12 scale racing the setup's are very close to the same all of the time for stock. Tires are changed more than anything in 1/12. So with a car that only has a solid rear axle and a couple of front springs setup is fairly consistant from track to track, car to car. Taxicabs are a completly different beast.
Why dont we have a special race at Prairie Nights or at an event next year for the top 4 drivers in this region to go head to head with the SAME equipment. We will all be running the FF07 soon enough and we could have Stormer set up three stocks, dyno'd & tuned with the same rpm power & torque. One new battery pack each same power and hold a race. Same tire's and size. same gearing, body etc.
May the best driver win! I'm in!
Got to love racing skateboards!
