Will there be any battery restrictions? I'm looking to try out some new Lithium packs from apogee, just want to make sure I'll be clear to run them at the throwdown. It would be in 4wd buggy...

I don't think you can, too much power for that track anyway. Don't take my word on it though.

The Apogee packs are only 3800 mAh, so I don't think I'll be over powered. Since modified classes are generally considered "open", I just want to confirm with those running the race that it's ok.

I see no advantage to them at all in modified off-road racing, actually you will have to change your car set-up due to the lighter weight of the battery, adding weight in other areas.

Yeah, Pudge uses the orion lipo and adds 3 oz. of weight on the chassis, sounds stupid to me. Just because it is a 3800 doesn't mean it will have less punch, it seems like more mah makes the car slower off the line. Belive me with the Novak gtb that I ran in mine at the massacre last year the thing was too fast with a 3300, you dont need any more power, but you can try!

I have no clue, just came home from school and found out I couldn't get on there. Seems to have really gone downhill after some other people took over.

I hope to have a lot of fun at the Throwdown this spring running Mod Buggy, Truck and 4wd!

Any decisions made yet whether lipo packs are ok to use in the mod classes?

Brushless were allowed in the past for Mod classes.
