Default RC10T2 FT Kit worth it?

Hi all,

I'm looking to get back into the RC hobby. I've always wanted an 18th scale truggy and really want to get the RC18T2. However, I also only want a kit because I love building, so that limits me to the T2 FT kit anyways. However, from reading online, it seems like a lot of people have problems with the differentials and steering slop that the RTR version doesn't have.

The kit will only be about $20 more expensive since I'm planning on buying electrics from hobbyking and hobbypartz, but I really don't want to have to dump more money trying to fix the steering and diffs out of the box.

Are there any other mini scale kits that I might be overlooking, or should I just go for the T2? Thanks!
