Default Turnigy 1/16 Buggy motor skids.

Hi.

I got the Turnigy 1/16 Brushless 4WD Racing Buggy w/25A System from Hobbyking for my cousin as a birthday gift. First the spur gear stripped so I order some new nylon ones instead. I installed it today and everything worked fine until suddenly the car wouldn't move and I heard this skid sound. I opened it and heard that it was coming from the motor which wouldn't turn, it was also very hot (I think).

I somehow accidentally move the shaft and it started working again but just for maybe for two seconds. If I separate the motor from the gear it works great, but as soon as I but it against the gear it starts to skid again. If I move the spur gear by hand there is a tiny hold up at one instance, not much but noticeable. What do you guys think? Is the motor faulty? Is there anyway I can take apart a inrunner and check it?
