The body in my original post? That was pre-painted by the factory.

Dang, I have been trying to find a way to make a digicamo body, the easiest solution I can find is hydrodipping the body, but I am sure that would cost $$$.

You could do it with a silk-screen. Print half of the digital camo pattern in black-and-white using a laser printer, then lay a piece of silk-screen over the top and run it through a heating press. The black pigment on the paper will heat up and melt the plastic that's sealing the silk-screen, producing a mask that you can stick to the inside of the body before painting the first color. Then remove the mask and paint the second color.

T-shirts are usually printed with silk-screens; do you know anyone who makes their own T-shirts?

I looked into at home hydrodipping, and the film and activator do not cost a hole lot. But there is some secret trick to doing it so it actually comes out right, what that trick is I have not been able to find an answer to as of yet.

What's the gear pitch you're using? I've been wanting to take a similar platform Apex/RC18, etc. and have everything to do it but the motor using a 48 pitch gear. Can you get 48 pitch spur gears for these?

Hmm. As I recall it uses a 0.5mod spur gear. Associated also sells 0.5mod pinion gears made of sintered steel, which last a lot longer than the nickel-plated-brass pinions sold by Losi.
