Default Newbie - hello & Micro Losi SCT AWD Brushless - Power problem

Hello,

I just joined the rctech. Thanks Gabe for the recommendation.

I am an experience RC heli pilot, but have zero experience with cars.

Recently my son purchased a micro Losi SCT AWD brushless car. We were having a blast with it when suddenly the car started losing power going forward.

But when it goes on reverse the power and speed is there.

Could anyone please share some insight on why this is happening?

I took the car a part and the motor seams to be fine as well as pinion and spur gear.

I want to say the motor sounds different but could be just my imagination.

Thanks all,

Paulo

If motor is spining fine in one direction it's not the motor. Try any batery 1.2v - 1.5v - 3.3v - 3.7 - 7.4v any of that. More voltage is not good for he's health! Into the brushess and check if he spins! My guess is if spins in one direction he's OK! FINE!

Problem is, our could be these:

Sounds like you burned a FET, or close to that. It's toasted. Could be repaired. If that's it!

Or could be a simple tx issue. What radio you have? The stock? Check EPA for front.
Reverse the throttle on the radio.
What happens?

PS:Shit, i must be drunk... you said you have the brushless ...
Well. Check the tx like i said. Forget about the brushes....

Check for binding in the transmission or loose screws on motor mount. With car powered off, can you move it by hand both forward and backward using same amount of force?

Thumbs up

Thank you for the replies guys.

I will give you more details on the car tomorrow... it is late already...

The car does not roll if I push it forward (or backwards for that matter). But I thought that was "normal" for a micro car.

Man... this reminds me of my early days on helis... so much to learn

I am not sure if I can reverse the throttle on this thing. The radio that came with it is very basic.

Again, thanks you guys!!!!

ahaha! Got the stock radio. It got reverse throttle and steering. check the upper section of the radio, you see the antena, right? Well, to the left you see 2 little switch that can acess only with a small screw key, right?
first is trothle reverse, second is steering reversed!

Even the stock AM 27mhz radio got that function. And so the 2.4ghz stock radio!
