Dromida Line of 1/18 cars by Revell

Greeves I found a steel spur and pinion from Wltoys that look identical to the dromida parts. Tempted to buy just to try $15, have you seen or tried them? Anyone? The spur and pinion are the biggest problem I have with these cars.

They look similar but i have no experience with these. If you do try them out i would expect some trimming so have a dremel of a file handy. I personally do not like metal spur gears. Metal on metal typically does not do well with dirt and debris. I would stay plastic and have another on hand. Im brushless and I have not had to change my plastic one yet. Ive come across many people that have tried the aluminum spur produced by dromida and they do not last.

Don't know why. Gear mesh always seemed right on. Would be fine for part of run, then I would hear the distinct sound of mesh being off. At that point spur and or pinion would be already damaged.

I have a brushless rally car. I run it on rather rough asphalt that has a few bumps and cracks, but never tried carpet. every now and then it tends to jump or roll or flip when hitting a rock or bump but i think my body is too low to the ground. Runs great on the nimh but I bought some 2s 1600s and it is just stupid fast and I get about 28 minutes of run time for each lipo. These cars are some serious fun.

I need some help with a Dromida 1/18 truck. I just got it and I'm still running it brushed w/NIMH. I've noticed that as I get toward the end of the battery charge, the car will stop and then play the same tone as when you power it on. What does that tone mean? I couldn't find anything in the Dromida manual about it. Does it mean "low battery" or does it mean "too hot", or maybe something else? If it is "low battery", does anyone know at what voltage that tone sounds?
