Default Micro questions for noob

I was hoping for a mini 8ight for Christmas. Didnt happen. Yadda Yadda Yadda, a Micro-T will be here Thursday from Amain.

What parts will I look to replace/upgarde relatively soon? I'm just looking to play in my living room but I'd like to be ready for breakage. Possibly make it better

I see it has an AM trx/rx. What is the crystal situation? My brother plans on picking one up too. What are the chances we'll be the same? I have some crystal experience from my first 2 cars last year.

What makes good jumps? Cardboard? Books? Id like some tips for making little tracks. I have hardwood floors in the main room and tile throughout the halls. I've lookd at videos but havent seen any consensus.

Should i avoid dirt at all costs with this little thing? It'd be cool to run in my backyard whick is all dirt but I want it to last.

Do I have to replace the motor or ESC to run a lipo?

Any help is appreciated!

Losi sells a lipo battery and charger that is drop in. Or you can spend lots of money making it brushless and 2.4 ghz, but at that point you should have gotten a Mini 8 IMHO.

Ya. I don't wanna go nuts on this thing. It's just for novelty fun. I definitely would like an extra battery or 2 for more run time.

The stock electronics do not have a LiPo cutoff so you might wanna check out the Losi 2s cause it has a voltage cutoff built into the pack but its very expensive IMO and there are much cheaper alternatives ....

You can run cheap LiPos in this but you must monitor runtimes and stop runningas soon as the car starts to slow , otherwise you will damage the battery .

I would also keep it out of the dirt as they were not really built to run there and the dirt will get into things and foul them up .

You can make cheap jumps out of cardboard for sure , the cars are light enough that the cardboard doesnt bend .......

I'll play with it for a while and see who else I can get to buy one to race with. Not about to dump $150 into a $100 car off the bat

My brother just ordered a Micro-T (stadium version) off ebay. It was cheaper and he's cheap. that's listed at 1/36 scale. I know it's 2 wheel drive but is it really that much smaller?
What differences are there, if any?

Is that how you get a standard receiver in? Pull the case off?

Not too creative, look at most micro rx and esc's, caseless and srink wrapped.
