DON'T PLUG IT IN!!!!!!!!!!!! You need a lipo charger to charge lipo's. All lipos must be balanced when you charge them. The Duratrax Onyx 230 is a good charger but you need a balancer. http://www.hobbypeople.net/duratrax-...FUdxQgodIXsAQw

FIRE!

Also, use a LiPo charging sack. That way your battery burns, not your house!

You must get a lipo charger. Hobbyking has great ones for 22 bucks.

Although I have charged lipos with a automobile charger with no problem(don't ever do it unless you know what you are doing.

And I NEVER balance my lipos. In my opinion it is not needed. But I am not advising anyone else to not balance them.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Years ago when lipos first came out. There were no balancers. Only chargers.

Lipos need a specific charging voltage. And they have to stop at a specific voltage. As well as a specific amp range.

They also should not be drained completely.

Now days the newer chargers will detect a bad cell and not allow you to charge it. Also they won't allow you to over charge the lipo. Also the charger will not let you charge it at a higher or lower cell count than the battery actually reads.

The cells automatically balance to 4.18 to 4.20 without ever touching a balancer to it. And without even having the balancer lead hooked up to the battery?

Unless of course you have a cell bad. In which case your charger will detect it right away, because a bad cell will only hold peak voltage and not steady voltage.

But again I would never want to change the way anyone currently charges their lipo's. Just some information I have learned though the years from dealing with these.
