TRA2820 is the largest 2s battery that I have used in my mini 8ight. Some places inaccurately report the width as 35mm. Is is only 30mm wide.
Thanks I just ordered a mini and needed the specs so I can order some lipos

been using valuehobby 2s 2200mah/3s 1200mah lipos in my mini and they seem to work well. They don't fit into stock but I'm using a puretech double psa strap to hold them in place, works well and don't have to worry about finding something that fits stock size. I'm sure it's been mentioned here before but can't beat it to open up battery options.

I use an High End europe made batery 60C from the hardcore 3D helis on some of my rc's.
They are extremelly good! And the price is right!

-They fit with a small DIY sand/cut on the mini8. Stock body fits with no issues whatsoever!

-This Quark33A does not have guts for 3s with vxl. Stock esc is happy till baterys drys out...
The Quaker33a shutdowns after 3 minutes of normal run...

I got in a quick run using Duratrax Onyx 2S 2000 mAh 25C. Snug fit with no mods. Fit looks similar to the Venom pictured in the first post. $15 from my LHS, $20 at Tower. DTXC 1836 comes with Deans, 1837 with TRX. My LHS only had the TRX version so I had to change the connector. I was previously using a small Fullymax 1300 mAh 25C and the Duratrax is noticeably better.

It should be the first info provided by the topic IMO, once you know the size you choose what you want..
If you use velcro and cut the batt tray side thingies you can go a bit wider and higher.

When you say "use velcro" do you mean, put some on the chassis and on the bottem of the battery? I just got my mini and Im having problems trying to fit my gens ace battery in I think I need to cut off the ends of the battery holders so the battery can fit in since its so wide, but then ill have to trim off the 2 screw holders on the side of the chassis. But then my next issue is the battery strap wont fit since the battery is too high... Ill have to find some longer screws for the battery holders and put washers under it to raise the holders up so the strap will fit.... ughhhh this is a pain. ha

This is how I run my little 4S packs (more info). They're nice and short, but 35mm wide and 25mm high. I have velcro on the bottom and a strap around it fixed to the battery tray things. Cheap and works perfect.

I recently got back into playing with my Mini 8ight after buying an 8ight-T. My old venom 3S 1300 mahs were puffed so I got rid of them. Found these excellent fitting (except for the bow in the battery brace) Turnigy batteries at a great price. The only trick besides cutting the part of the battery brackets (which I had to do for the Venom too) is putting the body clip in on the front side and then the back to take advantage of the curve of the battery on the back side. Other than that very satisfied after the first run. Can't wait to see what happens when the pack has a few cycles through it. Pretty good for $15 a piece.

I'm thinking this 1800 mAh 20C 2S will likely work in the stock battery tray with no trimming. Measures 30x15x92mm.

https://riptiderc.com/shop/ols/produ...po-2000mah-40c

Even thought the hyperlink address says 2000mah-40C, it actually goes to the 1800 mAh 20C lipo.
