Default HW 35a without fan?

I am running a HW 35a esc running 2s lipos in parallel with a tacon 2848 2600kv motor in a merv. I was wondering would it be possible to remove the fan on the esc?

Temps seem good in the 95-100f range. Plan on running some 3s lipos coming up but still think the temps should be ok.

anyone else remove the fan and have any experience? thanks!

I have used the 35A without the fan in a Vendetta SC with a 2835 size motor and it never felt any warmer than before I ran, but I can't say for sure since the Traxxas weighs more and your motor will draw more current. The only damage would come from heat, so as long as you keep an eye on the temp you will not have any issues. In my experience these ESCs have been very robust so you should be fine.

Well took the plunge and lopped off the fan. Running the same setup I maxed out at around 120f with 87f ambient. Overall happy with the results!

Is this set up any faster than stock? Is the Tacon run cooler than the VXL?
