I think since 99% of rc's use oil shocks they must be better!

ya but the grease does way better at 1/36th scale or you could use 3 racing oil shocks and use a blue o ring from the slipper to prevent leakage

this is the best site for that stuff http://www.microtforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6246

i find myself rebuilding shocks alot. with this small of scale it is really hard to keep the oil in them. my shocks that came with the (RTR) truck were toast within a week of owning the truck

Is there room to mount them upside down. I've never done it but alot of people do on the rc18's. Try associated green slime on the o rings during assy. Just throwing some ideas out there, I've never owened a car this small. Or if the grease works good stick with that, I'm sure it's just as tunable as far as tuning a shock this small goes!

upside down/right side up it wouldnt matter as the shocks sit horizontally.
ive also never tried the green slime OR grease in the shocks. i just rebuild. lol the kits are cheap and its not like its hard. the shocks on the 1/16 traxxas platform are really easy to get to for it being such an.... interesting design. though i do like the chassis alot. lets stick to shocks though. lol oops
