Default Something else to mess with

Just picked up a Mini-Quake in a trade. Looked like it would fun to bash around with.

Hard to find any info on these and was wondering who has one and what upgrades will be needed. Its bone stock......... for now

I have one. It's a pretty fun truck. I have an SE, and I've heard most people upgrade them to the SE level. I got a bunch of the Duratrax VR3 motors in a trade, but they get real hot, especially with a Lipo battery. I've already burned 2 motors up. Once I burn my supply of VR3's up, I'll probably drop in a brushless setup in. I've heard a good upgrade would be the aluminum steering knuckles and rear bearing carriers. I don't run mine as much, but it's a worthwhile truck.

I love the mq, A very fun little truck.

I upgraded the knuckles to the dtx graphite ones. I orderd some aluminum bling stuff, skid plates and bumpers from the toyz.

Next will be a motor upgrade to the vr3 which should be plenty fast and not to hard on the drivetrain

Post up some pics when you get yours.

For those that have run the vr3 motor on there quake how does the stock drivetrain hold up ?

What gearing did you use ?

I just got a esc7550 and new vr3 motor and was wanting a good starting point and to know whether or not the stock axles and gear diffs will need upgraded ?

Thanks
