i wonder if a brushless motor is needed for that small of space. But if you're looking for cheap i picked up its pretty good but it is a little overkill. If you look up on ebay brushless rc18t it is a kit (programable esc and 8900kv motor) i picked mine up for about $60 after shipping. just an idea
I agree. Brushless power is overkill for indoors unless you have a huge open basement or something! A Mini-T with a Mini-Slider motor in it is pretty perfect for indoors and even then it will be too fast to open up in the house.
Ok guys, thanks for the advice! I'm just so used to BL in 1/10 scale that I was just figuring it'd be the way to go. I think my Mini-T comes with a Losi Speed motor, or w/e they call the upgraded one. Is there any real maintenance you have to do with them being brushed? I'm lazy that way which is why I lean toward BL whenever possible!
I dis-agree, the benefit of brushless is way more than the extra power. If you are using a mild brushless motor and not beating the crap out of it, it will last longer than just about any part on the car. No brushed motor will last even close to the same amount of time. The efficiency is also light years ahead with brushless as well, similar powered brushed and brushless motors will have likely have a 25% difference in runtime.
A Mamba Sidewinder/4200 combo would be all you need for basement running, but may lack a little top speed for a 1/10th track. A Mamba 5400 would be enough speed for bigger tracks, but may be a bit wild in a small space. I think the Novak systems would be too powerful for any type of basement running.

Okay, on that note is there any real benefit to a Mamba Micro Pro over a Sidewinder Micro for 2S 4200 or 5400 applications?
I have both systems and I really dont notice the difference with anything up to 6800, or maybe my 370 brushless is a bit quicker with the Micro Pro. With the 4200 I really dont notice at all.
go to b-p-p.com and look at the motor combos for the rc18's 90 bucks for a mamba micro pro and esc and 70 for sidewinder and esc. UNBELIEVABLE PRICES!!! just picked on up my self
Well, thats alot of money to spend if you going for novak, tekin or mamba. If it's for fun, you better get a hobbywing ezrun 18A brushless set from ebay. They excelent for its price, around 55 bucks with free shipping is a good deal.

i doubt those micro sets are american made.... the most of them are from china.
you'll find hobbywing under rebranded names like speedpassion, venom, much more.... etc. Same goes for those mamba/tekin stuff with 20mm can size, rebranded stuff from another eastern company.
