OK this is what you all have been waiting for, the 2009 East Coast Championships!
Due to circumstances out side our control, the dates and the venue for this event have changed from last year. Mimi's in Gaithersburg, MD has stepped up and provided us with a venue to host this year’s event. I do have a date set, but the rest of this is still work in progress as this deal was made just within the last couple days, so just be a little patient while additional details get worked out. Here is what I can tell you at this time. The date of the event will be the 4th-6th of December, with Friday being open practice. Like last years event, Mimi's is one track, so we are going to have to setup and takedown the jumps between the On-Road and Off-Road events. Except unlike last year, where it was setup as two individual one day events with no camaraderie between the Off-Road and On-Road classes. This year we are going to have morning and afternoon sessions of On-Road and Off-Road. Where one will be run in the morning/early afternoon, and the other in the late afternoon/early evening. This will allow the event to be a true two day event again, as nobody likes to travel from long distances for a one day event if they only run either On-Road or Off-Road. Friday's open practice will also be equally separated into two sessions. As far as classes go, it should have all the usual classes it always has, but I am taking suggestions for classes, such as a 1/16 stadium class. For those of you who are concerned about the jumps or the carpet now that Mimi's went asphalt, this is what I can tell you. Mimi will be putting the carpet back down for the late winter months and she does have some jumps. She has also agreed to have new additional jumps made, and I am traveling down there next weekend to work with her builder as to what will be needed and how they should be made. At this point I think I will open the thread up and let you guys run with it for awhile and see what you all have to say. This is truly a great event and we did not want to let this not happen this year. John from Team Scream was unable to dedicate the time needed to promote this as he has a prior commitment around the same time so I agreed to take the reigns this year.
Thank You,
Tim "Psycho Man" Haskins

Did I hear you say that there will be no ban on traction compound?

"Mimis" is a Jack The Gripper only track. Cant use the good old paragon, but much better than whatever the heck was in those tubs of hand cleaner last year

Glad to hear you guys are getting excited about this, and yes I would love to make this one the biggest yet. I also would love to take this thing back to some of its roots by having some sort of a food buffet and playing music during Fridays open practice. When it was at Pottbellys, Drew even had someone come in and DJ Fridays practice. At very least playing music will be easy, having a food spread and DJ would require some help from sponsors and solid pre-entries. Keep the posts coming in guys, and I will continue to update you with details.
