Default RC Atomic World Race Cupertino October 3rd

Just finalized the date with Atomic and it is going to be October 3rd. We will be starting early so that everyone can get home for dinner. I will get sign ups soon. This is going to be the last Atomic race of the year. This will also be your last chance to win a plan ticket to Macau for the Atomic Mini-Z World Cup 09. We will be holding this event near the movies to draw the large crowds. There is a spec class and a class where you can run any parts you like. Only a few weeks to get your cars ready. Drop by the track any time and I can help. I will post more information as it becomes available.

thanks.

Classes:

Spec 2WD: Atomic and Kyosho parts only

Spec AWD: Atomic and Kyosho parts only

Open Stock 2WD: Parts from any manufacturer, Atomic USA motor

Might want to note this is a Mini-z race for those who are not familiar with it.

Last day for early sign ups will be this Saturday the 26th. All late sign ups will be charged an extra $5. The extra $5 will be placed into a pot and raffled off during the race. Please get your sign ups in. A good time to sign up would be during our FREE Wednesday night race.

thanks.

There is a class for open parts from any manufacturer. I have attached the sign up sheet. It falls under class C. How is Grant's shop going?

RACE REPORT:

The last US Atomic race of the year was a good one. Atomic was very generous with the prizes and made sure people went home with plenty of swag. They also made sure everyone got a cool Atomic t-shirt to remember the event. We hosted the event live and drew in some viewers that could not make it. We did learn a lot form doing our broadcast and the next time will even be better.

In 2WD spec, the class belonged to Stephen from the first qualifier. He set early TQ in the first round and then set it again in round 3. In the mains, Romel was able to give Stephen a good battle up until the last minute. Remember these are 14 minute mains. To run that long perfect is no easy task. In the end Stephen was just a little bit more perfect and got the win.

In AWD Spec, Mike Ma was the man. He set TQ in round two and never looked back. In round 3 he put his AWD very close the the 2WD qual times. That is no easy feat. Mike was not planning to run this class but from his driving, it did not appear that way. In the mains, Mike lead the whole race and eventually put the field down a lap.

In 2WD open, I somehow managed to get the win. It was not easy though. I had Randy breathing down my neck the whole ten minute main.

In the youth class we had Ronak take the TQ in the last round from Luke by only a few seconds. Ronak was able to hold the lead for the first two minutes. In the end Luke just had fewer mistakes and took the win. All the kids ran as if they were much older. In a six minute race we only saw about 6 crashes total. I think that is good at any level.

The only drama left in the night was who is going to get the HK tickets. Five names went into the box. First name drawn was Stephen Bui, second name was Willy Wong from the east coast. The last ticket left had the room chanting Mike, Mike, Mike. As I revealed the last name I just heard a roar from the crowd and I knew it was indeed Mike who got the last ticket.

So there you have it, two representatives from the US are from the Bay Area. Inside Line Racing has come a long way since our first club race. We started with 12 racers with box stock cars. Today we have racers winning World titles and going to the worlds in HK. All this is only possible with the support of the racers. The ILR family thanks you.

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. See you guys at the next race.
