Default RC18MT stuff

Hi,
Since I am going to try 2s lipo in this, its probably highly recommended to get an external LVC since the MT is bone stock.
Something like this:
Click

Also, it has the annoying habit of popping out the control arm on impart. The 'pivot pin' pops right out of the little piece screwed on the front. Acts as a skid plate / pivot point.
It appears one side has suffered a crack making repeat impacts a thing to dread.
Replace said plastic skid/pivot with new plastic piece, or maybe some kind of billet upgrade?
Thanks
Tony

Get the RPM bumper. It takes the place of the skid and it will protect the front end of your truck. You will do more basshing and less wrenching....

Found the bumper on ebay for $5.99...should I just get the RPM shock towers, or will the stock ones suffice for a 5 year old running a stock truck?
Mind you it'll be 2s LiPo soon

the stock shock towers are good.....if you break one then get the rpm....

a 2 cell w the stock speedo....mmmmm you will be running at the limit of the esc (voltage wise) 2 things to do to the stock speedo 1 get the FT heatsink for it ($4) the next is the speedo can come apart after a hard hit (dont ask) so I started taping the seams on the sides of the speedo....
Now your speedo will be really good to go....

The lvc is always a good idea....

For a 5 year old I would make 4.8v packs....you can bias the weight to the rear so it will jumpo like a champ and it will not have that plastic shattering speed.... w 4 2/3a cells you can gear up to make it faster it will not be a total pig....

Reviving. Hopefully I get some views w/o starting yet another thread.

I installed my Novak smart-stop 2s. Soldered it right to the battery connector.
Set it up per instructions. It ran fine for like 3 days. NOW even with a fully charged battery it blips and blinks the LED. I turn on everything, and after like 5 seconds, there goes the LED and the car goes off on its own, pauses, and goes off some more.

Is there something wrong with my brand new smart stop??????

Thanks
Tony

Edit: Looks two of the leads are off the circuit board. factory leads that is. Thing is I cant see how they got pulled. Maybe a cold solder joint.........?
