Long story short...
Its basically an overload of the system. There is a safety that triggers when the motor is drawing too much current. It shuts down the car so that the MOSFET's (little transistors on the circuit board) don't get blown.
The
complete explanation is over my head, lol. But, if you want to make it stop you can either go brushless, or take some very small transistors off of your circuit board.
I have also heard that bearings help...or taking it easy on the throttle
