Smile 2009 ALS Charity Race @ NCRC Racing

EVERYONE,

Back from the dark shadows of the global economy a light emerges...

Just a quick note that we are begining the planning for this year's event. I know the economy will be turned around by October so I expect the usual list of insane prizes (some have already arrived like the gearshift trophies).

Venue may change but track will remain huge (unless you are a weak 1/18th scale driver).

MiniZ remains strong but I know with RaceHaus closing that the MRL (1/18th) may have hit a bump in the road. However with Mimi's and Frederick I hope that we will continue to get a great turnout for all classes.

More detials to follow soon.

Mike Gee has always talked highly of this event, and I really like what this event stands for. Once you have the date set, I think I'm going to try and work it into my limited race schedule for this year. You can also PM me for sponsor info, but I think I can spare a couple LiPo packs to send down with Mike Gee for giveaways.

Psycho Man

Mike - I sent you a PM.

Dude, I stood there all 5 minutes and you never took that chicane straight. NO COKE FOR YOU

I'll be sure to get more detials and fliers out to GB soon. I will surely be there for your charity race (1/10th), I heard there is some more competition there every weekend now.

Thanks for the offer of support (e.g. battery packs). Anything you can spare would be great. I'll PM this weekend.

The semi-firm date is October 24th

Maybe you should get Mike a bottle of "wine" instead. LOL

Oh wait, you can't get him that either he's still not 21 yet. Sorry Mike.

Right now my company's biggest focus is on LiPo batteries for 1/18 scale. If I am not mistaken Mini Z still uses NiMh for there races is that correct? If LiPo packs are legal/or become legal for Mini Z racing, I would certainly consider producing LiPo packs for Mini Z's.

MiniZ are only NiMh, so LiPos for the 1/18th scale guys would be bueno.

Thanks & have a great weekend

Yes, the sedan crowd has been pretty good the last few weeks, and we are running 13.5 now Last week we had a full A for 17.5, and 5 in 13.5

As for your chinace, it was right before a corner, so the fast line was not straight Tim, im from GB, you start drinking here as soon as they cut the cord j/k

The question of the year is.. can a mini-z beat a 1/18 car this year? crowd says.... no!

This year I think a mini z will beat a 1/18th car....
If the metro NYC racers come down you may have Dave G., Maj B., Mike Haynes, and others.....This year history was made as these guys set new world records in mini z racing......

Guess I should have driven a little slower the first time out.

Mod Z should be alot faster this time around, too many new innovations over the past year to not to be. Faster than an M18on lipos?... I doubt it. Either way, were not really talking apples to apples here, are we? Although the NYC crew are some of the fastest in the world so far:

Mike... I'll chat with LF Race Technologies to see if he can sponsor a 1/28th scale ride for you at this event. Do you have an idea of which 1/28th class you would prefer to run?

Oh wow. That would be very generous of you guys. I borrowed a stock 2wd last year, but I think a mod would be more fun it generally is that way

Whos got a mini-z module for a 3PK

Mike,
When are you going to buy a real radio like the Helios?

You really should go for it in Mod class. You have skill but the smaller scales certinaly drive different.
