Default How decent are the stock rc18 radios?

Hey guys, the AM radios that come stock with the 18s, how decent are they?

They are basic and do their job fine. I used pretty much the same radio on my other Thunder Tiger cars and I never had any real bad glitches.

cool deal, I want to get an 18 for a couple of neighbor kids, but they are young and its a gift so I don't want to get a digital one or anything, but I remember using AM back in the day and it did nothing but glitch, so that's no good either

The track where I run they are useless, it will glitch you into a wall every lap. I use one in one of my spare cars for parking lots and it works fine.

It will do the job until you decide to upgrade.

My problem with them is that the pots on the inside of the radio seem to slip out of place making throttle control and trims useless. I had to take apart one 6 or 7 times and just ended up throwing it out and using a traxxas one I had lying around. They seem to be decent cheap am radios. Dont like the AE ones though, they even feel like a hunk of plastic.

Yup my 18's radio wasn't bad. I never had any glitching and used the stock radio for all last summer running every 2nd day and 3 hours at a time before putting Spektrum into it. The only reason I put Spektrum into it was because the group of friends I ran with became larger and we started running into frequency problems. I still have the stock radio for backup just in case sometime I need to use it.
