Default iwaver class ... any opinions ?

Hi guys,

Local hobby shop its seting up a 1/28 race class, basically for MiniZ and iWavers.

They will import officially the iwavers 02m and the idea its to race STOCK PN70 motor and just allow minor upgrades as shocks and rear diff

Any opinion/experience ?, the main idea its a low budget lot of fun yet competitive class for wednesday nights

thanks,

Pat

The program sounds great but the cars don't. You can get MR-02's 27Mhz RTR for about $120.00. The problem with using the I-waver is the electronics. I had a kid just buy one brand new and all the thing would do is cut out in the race. Checked all connections and went through the car thoroughly could not get it to work right. Anyway good luck with the program.

P.S. where are you located?

Hey Pat,
I raced w a club in Decatur, IL Flipside Racing and they use Iwavers.
They are cheaper and have some issues but they are repairable and once you get them running they are OK. The quality control on the electronics is lacking. You may have to repair sub standard solder joints and steering pots that are bound. Sometimes you get a dead TX. Again if you have good electronic/mechanical skills you can work through the issues and have fun.
Just remember down the road if you decide to host a big race the iwaver chassis has been in the past illegal to use. (check current Atomic & PN rules)
Good luckwith whatever you choose....personally i run Kyosho.
