Default Proper Turnbuckle Removal Technique?

I need to take apart my RC18T, but every time Ive done so in the past Ive broke a turnbuckle. And I really dont want to break a Lunsford so what am I doing wrong? Whats your technique?

one option is to drill a small hole in the cup so you can unscrew the stud

its also about leverage - don't grab the turnbuckle where it has a lot of flex, grab it by where it is closest to the stud and pry it with a flat-head screwdriver

but you are not alone, it is a pain in the rear for me too sometimes. just drill a small hole in the cup

If your ball cups have a shaft shaped like a hex then you can grab ahold of the ball cup with some pliers right next to the ball and rotate it about 90 degrees and it will pop right off every time.

There's no effin' way in hell you can break a Lunsford Titanium turnbuckle tryin to remove it from an RC18T

But then again, if anyone we're to prove me wrong on this, it would be you.

I like this suggestion. When you do it this way you minimize the wear of the ball cup that comes from popping it on and off.
