I have an Associated RC18B with the whole Mamba setup, ect. I was wondering what to do about handling. I bought the DP DragLink and hooked that up but it was sticking on the passenger side and messing everything up so I took that off and chalked it up as a loss. Any other suggestions/products I could try out? Right now I just have a rubberband keeping things tight. I'm fairly new to all this but I'm learning really quickly (thanks to people on this site).
Also, new servo's? I looked around a little bit but didn't really absorb any info about them. There isn't anything wrong with mine (yet) but I just felt like upgrading for the fun of it (and before something does go wrong with it). If anyone had any suggestions that would be awesome.
The entire steering assembly is a joke on the RC18s, it has so much slop it isnt even funny no more.
Try change the steering assembly into something w/o slop and get rid of the saver and place a MG servo in there. That might help temporary if you drive it hard.
Only seen chassis conversion to completely get rid of the Steering slop.
Exotek steering assembly or there was one other available on ebay i think.
Alright, so I need a steering assembly without slop, get rid of the servo saver and get an MG servo. I think I have the steering assembly covered but how would I know which servo to get? Are there different sizes, shapes, kinds? What's a good web site? Again, I'm new to all this. Treat me like I'm simple.
If the DP link was dragging or binding on one side, VERY CAREFULLY ream it out just a bit more until it fits over the ball stud perfectly. Just use an Xacto knife or hole-reamer. Like I said, be very careful, and only shave the slightest bit at a time. Just running the DP link will help considerably.

I used a dremel and sanding drum on the ball stud flange to eliminate any
binding and still maintain the integrety of the drag link holes.
Make sure that the body clip in your front battery strap doesn't come
in contact with the drag link.
Also the drag link may not have enough clearance under the top plate.
A Hitec HS-65MG is a good servo for these cars, but you will need to pick up an Associated adapter for the Hitec. I agree with the above statements about making the DP draglink work for you, it really helps alot. I had to shave a little from the hole where it slides over the ballstud, and shave some of the top plate for it to clear. Very well worth the time to do these small fixes on this car.

Yeah, I already shaved the top plate a bit. I'm gonna ream out the the holes when I get home today. I'll let you know how it works out.
Associated adapter? Where would I find that and what is it? I wouldn't have anything on my old servo that I could use?
