I don't know why you are getting dirt in yours but that Castle system pretty much felt the same as mine. It was slow so I'd say that it was probably a 5400.

so what is your verdict? would you prefer a castle sensorless system? or would you still say the 380 motor runs better?

I would stick with the 380... More torque.

Lamar drove a 6800kv motor with a 14 tooth pinion I geared really low due to prior track temp. was 140 F. Yesterday was a lot cooler I can get 120 on my motor after a 5 min. practice.

idk if i am correct but i remeber reading somewhere that u can run bl motors at 200 degrees..so 140 isnt bad. but if it were a brushed motor then 140 would be perfect temp for a 5 min race IMO

You can definately go higher on those temps, I dont think ive had my recoil ever temp under 160*F LOL thats with 6800 and 8000 kv motors. More or less keep them under 180 and they will run like champs all day long, they can go higher if you need to (big race or similar situation, etc) but 200+ is pushing it, over 220 and youll be lucky not to smoke them

Sorry I didn;t specify my motor temp ,I said the track temp. was 140 I didn't specify my motor it was at 175 two weeks ago so I have to lower the pinion but I never had a chance to run the car for the race this weekend due to not enough entries for mod.

I race maybe every two weeks. I want to get there early for a good place to set up and sit.
