Default stock class motor

Here at Discount Hobby we are allowing the venom non rebuildable motor for stock class. Not really sure if it's faster fast guys at discount use stock AE motor.

For ESC Tekin or Novak micro gt or spy or you can use mamba-25. With the new beta software you could run brush motor and when you're ready for Modi-fy-ED you can install the brushless motor this would probably one of the cheapest transition you can do. Not really sure if tekin and novak brushless system can do this.

The only issue for the Castle is that it's sensorless. For modified 18R, the sudden speed bursts can cause inconsistency and tendency to overshoot corners.

Will you be racing with us at Pound It next weekend?

I don't need sensors to smooth out the throttle for me. Most racers that come to our track with Novak systems get spanked. The issues sensorless systems had in the past with sudden bursts of power are long gone. New firmware updates are constantly improving driving with sensorless, and I have not had any issues in a long time. Ill never buy another Novak system because they can't handle what I dish out to them. Maybe I abuse them, but Ill stick with what can handle the abuse with my Castle systems.

My experiences are just the opposite. I have a sensorless in another one of my cars and there are definitely sudden bursts of power and a lack of consistently smooth power. They are better than they were but there is no mistaking them for sensored.

The Novak takes everything that I dish and it continues to run well. All of the fast guys here run the Novak systems and I have race videos of the cars in action.

with the software i was able to tune out the speed burst by adjusting the throttle curve.....but i havent tryed a sensored system yet

Sensorless operation will only affect the car at startup. Assuming the software is good (and it doesnt really get much better than Castle's), It will be butter smooth. You run a tekin RS in your 18R correct? Unless you used a hotwire to enable sensored only mode, it only uses sensors at startup, and uses sensorless operation. If my memory serves, you got the speedpassion ESC correct? While I dont have any expereince with that, I will say that the Castle stuff in my cars was butter smooth, aside from having an in general overpowered car. No sudden power bursts, nothing silly like that. And theyve even come out with newer firmware since the last time ive drove micro, and its supposed to be even better! If you lived closer, id let you try my car just to show you what im talking about
