Default MLST2 going thermal fairly quickly?

just got an MLST2 today and was running it through my yard...and going through thicker grass...it goes into thermal fairly quickly. i know the grass will put major load on it...but i'm also thinking maybe it's geared a little high as the motors and esc are pretty warm when not going thermal.

i have 2 sets of pinions with no markings, and 3 spur gears...are all the spurs the same that are included in the kit?

For thick grass you will have to gear it a few teeth lower on the pinion, and still check temps often.
