Plastic bumper and aluminum a-arms weren't a good combo. Bent two hinge pins and DNF'ed two races because of it. So I put the plastic RTR a-arms on the front and have been golden since. I won again tonight with that same set-up.

I definitely want to get some wheel time on that SC18.

Could anyone give me any information on how i might use the little set up button on my esc. I want to turn it down so my son can drive it. I don't know what brand it is but people tell me it's a hobbywing 25A but what motor it is i don't know. Check pics below.

Also i want to put some foam tyres on it but i'm not sure what brand to get. It's pretty much a rip off of an AE 18T (brought in by the australian caster distributer) but the little hex drives measure 8mm.

Thanks

Here's the manual for the Hobbywing ESC:

hobbywing

You can soften the punch and retard the timing but it'd be easier to just turn your throttle EPA down.

Dunno about the foams... if you remove the wheel hexes and just use the drive pin, there are some AE type wheels that will fit depending on their thickness because the CR axles are shorter than AE's.

Thanks heaps mate that's exactly what i'm after but unfortunately everytime i click on the link it doesn't work

Yeah it's the punch i want to turn down. He's only two so throttle control isn't his greatest asset

So no 1/18 use hexs then as the losi's use pins aswell dont they?

Thanks for the help.

The manual is in PDF format.. do you have Adobe Acrobat? Adobe

There are no foam tires that use an 8mm hex that I know of. The Losi Mini T uses a drive pin, the Mini LST uses a drive hex but it's smaller than CR.

I've been following this thread, thanks for all your input, as I've
ordered a truggy today.

Hey guys,

I was reading the thread.. really good info - but for the life of me I couldn't figure out what this is:

cgi.ebay.com/1-18-Caster-brushless-buggy-truggy-complete-rtr-rc18t_W0QQitemZ140354373426QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadi o_Control_Vehicles?hash=item20adc5c732

any help identifying would be great - I was in such a rush to get one that I didn't even bother trying to get any information before I ordered it (because one of the links led me straight here); left the seller (CasterRacingUSA) a message asking for what model it was, but haven't received a response.

Thanks again!

What you were asking about is the sellers ebay listing site, for the F18T truggy/ buggy.
You can buy from there or direct from Caster Racing USA.
As for your questions the seller has 48 hours to respond so you should be
getting an answer soon.
I bought an F18T truggy last week and I'm anxious to receive it.

haha, thanks for the quick response - I actually thought I had it linked to the "1/18 caster brushless buggy truggy complete rtr rc18t"

what I was trying to say was, I already bought it - but I didn't even bother trying to figure out what exactly the heck it is. As you can see, the listing title isn't the most specific thing.. the picture shows a buggy - but as far as I know, the buggy and truggy are different models.

-edit- I also read something about them wanting to sell away some of the old stuff for cheaper - just to get rid of it (because the newer models were better), so I wanted to also know if I was getting an older one..

I just wanted to know so I can buy the upgrades for it as soon as I can

What you purchased is up to you. You can choose the buggy in red or blue or truggy in blue/white or blue/silver. I have all four sitting in front of me and I think I like the blue/silver truggy the best.

Eenie, meenie, minee, moe

You will get the latest version of the RTR, the proto-types are only for sale on the website.

All of the available upgrades will fit either vehicle except for the Pro shock towers which will only fit the buggy. (We're working on getting them for the truggy, just hasn't happened yet.)

Has anybody tried these cars on Carpet Oval? They look like the hot ticket for Mod Late Model.

And, will RC18T foam tires work on the truck?

Thanks

It depends on the thickness of the wheel at the mounting point. F18 axles are shorter than RC18 so some wheels work and some don't.
