I went to Kamakazie hobbies to check them out. They look cool but I'm not sure of their handling capabilities. You should be able to strip the electronics and motor out of an old Tamiya Tamtech. Perfect combo with the new lipo.

I have one completely built and ready to go. But looking for a brushless motor to put in the car rather then the motor they gave.

I think the car should handle pretty well. I know it will require some tuning but basically it looks pretty good. I was disappointed as a dealer that I couldn't get any parts for the car. Serpent brought the car in without parts back up.

What motor changes have guys done with this car? I like to have some ideas.

I don't own one yet, but my Tamtech runs the Mabuchi 130 Black motor. They're pretty fast. I have to ask you what your electronics spec was for that car, and if the hobby shop had the flat lipos.

Thanks for the motor info I will look this up and see where I may get one to try.

Serpent did not give you any electronic specs for the car. They did include the flat battery packs that you need to wire together on your own. Our main company is the marketing company and importer for a battery manufacturer. So I plan on them giving me lipo packs and maybe coming out with something for the car as well. I was fortunate to get a second Serpent pack before they ran out. I should say I have not been on their site for a little while so I don't know if they have received new inventory for the car.

To answer your question I have not been to any hobby shops to see if they have these flat packs. I am not sure if any other RC car or plane takes these type of packs for them to be stocked by the LHS?

I am going to put in the Quark Mini Brushless Plasma system on the car. I have one of these I got as a sample when we were looking to import their line. It positioned nicely and the body fit with it on the car. So this is good for now.

What about the servo and receiver? I use those flat packs in my Tamtech.

I'm hoping to acquire one of the cars shortly. I will defiantly use the Tamtech gear for now just to get the damn thing going. Thank you for the heads up on the brushless system, that is good to know.

I've recently purchased a very large RCP system including timing loop, transponders, and software. I'm doing monthly races and trying to incorporate 1/24th scale. Going 3 wide on the tiles for the most part. I can drive 2 tile tracks but the 3rd tile makes it sweet.

Let me know what you're doing for racing in Arizona.

Hey Bruce,

There is a club here in Arizona called Mini-AZ that runs twice a month. They have the full RCP track with the large tiles, scoring system which makes it a lot of fun. The guys run the On Line Point Series track once per month to score their points for that competition. That makes it fun for everyone because you are competing with racers from all over. With the RCP, the track design, which is different each month, is the same exact track that everyone worldwide is running on each particular month. So the competition by times creates a fun racing inviroment.

Then second race of the month they make a large track so the modified cars can run also. This track is perfect also for the 1/24th cars. That is why I want to get my car running since I will have a spot to run at least once per month. Hopefully other guys will then get the car and we can have some competition going on.

If you are not signed up as yet for the OLPS so your guys can run that series you should sign up. The cost is nothing, like $20.00 for the club, and since you have a scoring system you are there. This will make it fun for thr racers and give them more reason to show up each time you have a race. Hopefully your track will then grow in numbers!

I know, I've seen that before. Never really thought about it though. If people show interest I will think about it, but as for now I'm just trying to gain a following. I need to walk before I can run.

When they set up the larger track for the mod guys do they just make it longer or do they go 3 wide on the tiles? Hell 3 wide you could probably run 1/18th scale. Now that would be sweet.

I'm tellen ya if I had a shop with a track I would defiantly cater to all those scales. Why limit yourself to just one class if your track accommodates.

Good luck with your S240, I can't wait to get mine!!

The sweet thing about the On Line Point Series (OLPS) it cost nothing and you just need the computer to send your results. You need enough tiles to create the track design used each month, but they are always smaller type tracks. That is why the club makes the large track on the second race of the month. We have very long straits and wide track. So it is fun.

Hope you get your car soon. I am sure you will have fun with it.
