A123 packs in a Vendetta ST
Well after some reading on several forums, I think I'm going the A123 for batteries in my dettas. I really like the fact they are safer than lipo packs and the amp burst is nice as well. But now I need to find a source for them which has turned out more challenging than I expected!
I did come across some a123 packs from A123 Racing on MaxAmps but am unsure on which one I need and if they will even fit without having to mod the chassis. Also I'm a bit confused about what voltage I need exactly to run with stock electronics (which I will upgrade of course, as time and money permits).
If somebody has any experience with running A123 packs in Detta's, can they chime in about their experience with them?
Thanks very much in advance.

I am not familiar with the Vendetta but I have used A123 on 1/18th scale such as the onroad Xray M18 and the Robitronic Scalpel. The pack which worked well for me is the 2S1P 1100mah with 2 cells side by side. It is small and provided good voltage (6.6V) and plenty of speed and run time with a 8000kv castle brushless combo. On the M18, I used the pack the way it is, on the Scalpel, I opened the pack and mounted one cell on each side of the chassis. Very short charging time is very practical with A123's. I get my A123 packs from rclipos.com (http://www.rclipos.com/A123_Packs.htm). Hope it helps.
