Default Rc18 vs Mini T

Which one of these cars is better. I am leaning toward the Mini T because it is cheaper. What about the Micro T? Is it good. I am low on space so I need a small car.

i ve had both....if u plan on racing then the 18t is easier to drive......but for bashing the 18t is the better value its pretty fast outta da box and it has oil filled shocks, the mini-t is a fun basher but if money is the issue then the mini-t isnt for u.....

I plan to spend a maximim of $250. But that also in cludes a brushless system so speed does not matter. Which one is stronger?

i would go with the 18t, get the bl system, then upgrade drivetrain, get MIP CVDs and MIP super diff outdrives....then if u still got some cash to invest get rpm shock towers, aluminum front knuckles and rear hubs....that should b a good set up...BTW wat exactly do u plan on doing just speed runs or bashing? i would recomend getting the 18r instead of 18t...fyi i got a hopped p brushless micro rs4 its super fast! if ur interested ill shoot ya some pics

My 18T has been great, and I like the handling better than a friends Mini-T.

FWIW, 8800KV brushless + 3S LiPo is entertaining. I believe I'm under 250 invested in mine with chassis + brushless + LiPo + CVDs + ExoTek wing, mounts and rear carbon shock tower + FT shocks + high torque servo. I already had a radio + receiver though.

the mini t is 2wd and has less parts so it will be cheaper....
the rc18t is 4wd.....

the micro t is smaller and a lot of fun as well....

The thing is I can get the factory team version and It would still be in my budget range. So I can just buy a battery and the brushless system. I already have a radio system.

Sounds like a good idea. If you are goin brushless, do invest in the MIP diff outdrives and CVDs. You'll be glad you did.

FWIW, with sleeved stock outdrives, FT rear aluminum dogbones and MIP CVDs I've not had any problems.

I have spun a diff ring in the stock outdrive though, but I forgot to glue the ring to the outdrive. MIP outdrives would have avoided that though.

what radio TX/RX will you be using? Being you are going BL I hope you have an FM or 2.4 system....

Since you going to get the FT kit learn how to build shocks and pick up some AE green slime.

You also need to know how to build the diffs...

Keep it stock and run it and see what breaks...then replace as needed.

You will want to have real tools as well....Good hex drivers and a good philips screwdriver.

Don't worry I have a Futaba 3PM 2.3GHz radio.
And I have built many ball diffs for my Associated B4.
